Vernay back on the podium at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring

Hyundai Motorsport's cars completed a one-two finish in the TCR category at the ADAC 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Crossing the line in formation, the winning Elantra N and i30 N successfully defended the title won last year in the red-flag-shortened edition.

Hyundai Motorsport entered two cars in the TCR class with the Elantra N for Azcona/Basseng/Lauck and the i30 N for the Antti Buri, Moritz Oestreich and Jean-Karl Vernay team.

Everything started perfectly for Vernay who set the best time in class in qualifying and who, with his team-mates, led the class for a long time until the middle of the race. Unfortunately it was at this point that Buri stopped on track with a mechanical problem. The team was able to solve the problem, putting the Finn back into the race, but with a delay that dropped the car to fourth place. From there, the trio put in an incredible performance to climb back up and regain second place.

Jean-Karl Vernay has signed a very good 24 Hours to obtain this new podium after the result of 2021 where he had already climbed on the 2nd step of the podium of the TCR category.
